I don’t think Saban “wants” that, but given the court decisions that have struck down NCAA regulations and have allowed the current state of NIL and the transfer portal to develop, it may ultimately take congressional involvement to impose some sort of regulatory framework for the issues that won’t be struck down.

Structure it all by revenue.

Top 50 in revenue are a league made of 5 conferences of 10 teams. Top 2 in each conference play in conference championship game.

5 champs, 3 wild cards(criteria set before season- not after) with balanced scheduling based on prior season.

5 champs, 2 wild cards. All games except last one on campus.
