Earlier today, Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen spoke about the departure of former defensive coordinator Geoff Collins who is headed to Florida for the same job. Per USAToday.com:
quote:Mullen has not named a defensive coordinator for the Orange Bowl against Georgia Tech, but did say that grad assistant John Haneline will work with the linebackers in Collin's absence.
“I hope our guys have opportunities to go be head coaches more than leaving for lateral positions,” Mullen said. “I think (with) success, I hope we do have opportunities.”
