One? Two? More?

I've taken two pair the last 3 trips to Europe. Some KEEN walking shoes (TARGHEE III WATERPROOF). Durable and pretty comfortable for walking all day.

Have taken a pair of All Bird "Runners" for just hanging around, short walks, going out to dinner etc. where you didn't have to walk as much. Light wool and don't take up much room, but it is a pair of shoes in the bag!

You?

I've reached that lovely state of middle age where my feet hurt....plantar fasciitis, metatarsalgia, etc will come and go. So I wear shoes with arch support when taking walking-intensive trips. Currently rockin' a pair of Vionic lace up ankle boots that also zip, for easy airport off and on. They're waterproof, too. My backup pair is another pair of sneaker-style Vionics. Who cares if they're clunky? My damn feet don't hurt when I wear them.

If headed offroad, I'll pack waterproof Vasque Breeze low tops.

I've been looking at a one stop shop shoe I can take to Thailand and these look interesting. I assume being wool they don't really have much odor even when sweating in them from walking all day?

Mine do start to smell if I don’t wear no-show socks with them. But with the socks that’s no issue.

And when they start to smell, they’re made to be washed

Can't recommend All Birds enough in terms of comfort. I found them at least for me to run a size small. They come in even sizes right now so I'm an 11 and I had to buy a 12 for example.

You certainly probably wouldn't use them to hike in but maybe people do. There's not much support really in them. The Runners do have an insole.

A guy that does work for us wears them every day now and just swears up and down how much his feet feel better.

Was thinking more for just walking around the city, visiting temples, traveling, ect. Do they sell them in stores or is it just an online company?

They have brick and mortars in very select cities and to my knowledge don’t sell them in any stores but their own. Primarily online.

And that right there is the number one factor to be considered. I have personally had good success with Skechers, especially the lace-up walking shoes. Incredibly comfortable.

Just like music, food and politics. Everybody like what they like.

Brand new, top notch Brooks sneakers (I have a Cavus foot that cause Achilles/plantar pain) and a pair of flip flops for the pool and hotel rooms w/o slippers. Sometimes bring heels if I’m doing very fine dining or opera.

I have four pairs. Honestly I bought them all on eBay. For whatever reason they list new shoes on there for forty or fifty bucks. Fraction of the price of their online store.

AllBird Review.

I wear Merrell Moab hikers. They're not exactly fashionable, but they're comfortable and hold up to any terrain.

I usually take three, all ultra lightweight. Allbirds, a pair of Cole Haan grand os oxfords (the moon shoe looking ones) and drivers or some similar packable leather slip on that looks pretty nice. If a winter trip I take CH grand os chukkas and the allbirds.

My endorsement of CH is pretty much limited to travel, but that's where they shine. The grand/zero grand shoes look good enough to go to nice dinners but you can walk on them all day. And they're lightweight and foldable, so you don't have to worry about crushing them in luggage like you might "real" leather shoes.

Besides being awesome as a main travel shoe, Allbirds are also the GOAT if you get a blister while traveling. Saved me from being miserable a few times.

You won't be disappointed. They're great shoes. I've been meaning to get a second pair of the high tops and the bamboo for summer.

Can't recommend Allbirds enough, especially when traveling. Also, for Bangkok, I would recommend you buy Tree Runners, not Wool Runners.

Merrill Jungle Mocs, 2 pairs so one can dry if they get wet.
Scotch Guard works.
They are not attractive however.
