Yellowstone has announced a three-phased plan that initially opens only south and east entrances in Wyoming. Entrances in Montana will remain closed as Montana and Idaho still have out-of-state travel restrictions in place.

GTNP gates will open at noon Monday to recreational access and initial services including public restrooms, day-use hiking trails, biking, riverbank and lakeshore fishing, and some approved tours. Teton Park Road, Moose-Wilson Road, and North Park Road will also open.

Still some skiing left to do in GTNP

I'm intrigued.
Anyone know if flights have stabilized? PITA to plan for a certain period of time off work just to have the flights get all fricked up.
The drive would be a bit of a beast.

They’ve slashed the schedule so much, the connections may be inconvenient.
You can always drive up from SLC if you run into that issue though. It’s 4 1/2 hours.

Awesome. Have a trip planned in July for Jackson Hole.

We have a trip scheduled for July 1st. Originally, they had tons of flights on Frontier, United and American but last time I looked there was nothing. I think I am just going to go southwest to SLC and then drive.

Check Idaho falls or Pocatello

5/14/20 Update. A lot of flights were added to Jackson Hole after the opening announcement. Frontier has a $178 RT flight from msy with 1 stop in Denver.
Has anyone ever stayed in the Grand Tetons, particularly the Colter Bay campgrounds?

It fills up quickly, is crowded and just seems really busy. I highly recommend Lizard Creek campground. Its a few miles north of Colter Bay but is much quieter and the sites aren't quite as on top of one another. Plus it is only 10 miles or to Yellowstone so it works well as place to see both parks. It is where I have camped for the last 3 years in a row.

I've never been but I wouldn't recommend staying in the middle of the two and visiting both personally. They are quite a ways apart and there's also not a lot on the south side of Yellowstone.
Now if you just wanted somewhere nice to stay with the ability to travel to either, certainly could make sense.
That's a beautiful area of the world.
