Just got back from WP, CO. Great trip with awesome skiing and mountain top views. One of the best ski trips I've done. We stayed at the Iron Horse, Ski In/ Out, really close to the village where all the lifts are and good restaurants within walking distance. The mountain top Rest/bars were really cool and gave you a great place to defrost while having some good CO craft brews and decent grub. Highly recommend it. Great time. Also Frontier's flying out of Lafayette (hometown) to Denver which made it cheaper and less hassle from switching planes ect...

We are making a short 4 day trip this weekend and trying to decide between Winter Park or Frisco. We have stayed in Breck in the past, but this trip is just the 4 of us with 2 kids under 8. Thanks for the info. What was your opinion of the town as the whole? We will probably only ski for a day, so want to tube with kids or find a good free sled hill, eat and drink and watch the saints game somewhere.

I make the frontier flight for work all of the time out of New Orleans, and it is just fine. Worst thing is that if they cancel the flight, you are usually screwed because they only have 1 or maybe 2 leaving a day so you get bumped to the next day.

Frontier has crazy good deals sometimes. We did a day trip to Austin for $38 round trip in September (got there around 9AM and left at 7PM) and then I took my daughter on a one day over night trip to Orlando to go to Universal Studios for $45 round trip.

The flights we booked out of New Orleans to Denver were $75rt for this Saturday - Tuesday.

Its an affordable way to take some short trips and not waste vacation days at work.

correction: return WED or SAT (not SUN)

Flight was ok but the $57 round trip is wrong. During non peak times it'll be $57 one way (I think) but when the slopes are open (peak season) they increase the prices. Still cheaper than flying from Laf to Hou or Dallas for connector to Den.

Did you ski Mary Jane? Much less crowded than the mountain resort side!

I went yesterday to check on this.... booked a flight from Wednesday to Wednesday. $56.XX roundtrip.

It looked like they only flew on Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sat.
Mon and Fri were the more expensive options. ($100-$150 each way)
Wed and Sat were the cheaper flights ($25-$50 each way)

Sweet!! Good info. I flew out the day after Xmas which was a Wednesday and came back on 1/2/19 also a Wednesday, two very busy days for travel, and my flight for two came out to about $600. It's probably due to the days I chose to fly (day after xmas and day after new years).

Be sure to read the fine print on Frontier. They love to add charges for stuff like choosing a seat, carry on, checked bag, printed ticket.....

My mom got a cheap round trip flight to Denver with them a couple years ago that wasn’t so cheap after all.

What’s the deal with seating on these flights? Is it a free for all trying to get a seat? Do they randomly assign you a seat at the gate? If you book 4 tickets at the same time should they all be together?

They will assign you a seat at random, but I have never not been put next to who I had booked my flight with.
