Looking for somewhere to go within a 3 hr drive from BR with the wife and a 3yr old. Not doing any parades Sunday-Tuesday and we really wanna get out of town. We discussed maybe a cabin in a state park or Margaritaville in Biloxi.
Any ideas?

Seems like Margaritaville would be a good place for the kid. They have that big kid area. Not sure any of the pools are heated though

I don't think the pools open until March

Houston... Museum District is awesome for kids and the zoo is part of it.

Houston too far
If you did though, NASA tour is awesome!
3 might be a little young.
Pensacola Naval Air Station is right around 3 hours, kids love seeing all the airplanes.

Ok, not 3 hours away, but Sandestin is nice & quiet this time of year & has several Mardi Gras events going on that weekend. There's a dog parade that Sunday. Great for a 3 year old.

Go hiking.
Go to a fort.
Louisiana Children's Museum
Just get outside, kids love that.

State park cabins are probably all booked up by now....they often book crazy early for holidays.
3 is little...he doesn't care where you go. I'd be tempted to head to St Francisville, go walking up at Tunica Hills, take a walk into the Cat Island Swamp area & see the national grand champion bald cypress tree. LINK

This. The majority of the state takes over Orlando during this time.

Too late for Disney. We thought about it but there wasn't much available on short notice and didn't wanna fight crowds.
We do plan to go maybe later this year or next Mardi Gras.
