It’s been over 10 years since we went, but I remember the Pirate Bay Beach Club and Restaurant was really good. My husband said the diving was great. I went on the dive boat, but just went snorkeling and it was really nice. We stayed at The Marriott.

I love curacao. I have been twice. I recommend getting a car and hitting as many of the beach areas that you can.

We went to Hawaii in 2023 and Curacao in 2024, and loved both. Curacao is a bit easier to reach, with shorter flights and less adjustment to a different time zone. Curacao has European architecture with a Caribbean vibe! The snorkeling was amazing and all of the beaches were gorgeous. We stayed in this modern condo in the Blue Bay Resort area: condo. I'd also recommend getting a dining reservation at El Gaucho - they had the best views and a great steak. Have fun!

Can anyone compare Bonaire to Curacao? Looking at both for a trip this fall.

There are two Facebook groups that I joined that had lots of info on Curacao and sometimes there are posts about Bonaire. The groups are named Curacao Vacation Tips and The Curacao Visitors Forum.

i never went to bonaire but I think it was a little less built up. curacao benefitted immensely from having the refinery and also dutch colonization... which is evident if you stay around the jan thiel area. there will be many tall blonde haired beauties. That side of the island is cool but I prefer the lest busy west northwestern side. around westpunt you can snorkle with turtles. the truth is the snorkling is great anywhere on the island except maybe the north shore.

steak and ribs by the queens bridge in historic willemstad had a great filet and a beautiful view.

Curacao is one of my favorite cruise stoops. Crystal clear aquamarine blue water, great food, and quality shopping. Beaches are typically small and cut in between large rock formations, but diving and snorkeling are top notch.

Lots more to do in Curacao than Bonaire unless you’re a diver, then it’s Bonaire all the way.

Bonaire has much less population and more nature. Bonaire has very good restaurants but less.
Most of the people in Bonaire are Dutch.
Snorkeling and diving is better in Bonaire but has less white sandy beaches.

If you love Snorkeling/diving or you want quiet with no traffic, Bonaire is better.

If you want white sandy beaches and some nightlife, curacao is better.

Accommodations in Bonaire are cheaper and more boutique. Curacao has some large resorts.
