Wife is having her 40th birthday coming up. Looking at taking her out to Vegas with a couple friends. The weekend of the 10th of may have all of these at the $200 - $250 price range. Amex Platinum gives $100 of spa credit and free breakfast at all the properties.

Which should we choose? All offer free upgrades if available as well. Never stayed at any of the properties before.

4 seasons and Waldorf are properties without casinos and will thus be much more laid back and quiet.

Bellagio is a true Vegas resort.

4 seasons is next to Mandalay Bay which is the southern most hotel and not ideal location. Waldorf is a better location, but I believe was originally built to be condos and it shows.

Bellagio if you want a casino.

This is where I would come down. Why go to Vegas if you're not going to "do" Vegas?

At one point in time bellagio was the best hotel in Vegas. It’s since been easily surpassed by Wynn, Cosmo and aria, but bellagio is still better than most. Caesar’s and Venetian are probably on par with bellagio.

I've only been to Vegas one time (and wasn't a fan), so my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. But when I walked through the Aria, I thought "man wish I had known to stay here over Bellagio"

Aria

Also an option in the price range but didn't think it would compare.

I’m looking at a trip to Vegas. The Waldorf is $2500 per person. Bellagio is $900 per person for a suite. This is including a flight from Bozeman.

Wynn and Encore are on the FHR Amex program as well. Much better than Bellagio.

Dinner at Picasso at the Bellagio for her birthday should blow her away.

4 Seasons is part of Mandalay. It occupies the top four floors of the spoke shaped tower. Also look at the all suite Delano which is part of Mandalay but has its own separate area as well.

You might want to consider the Wynn as well.

My wife and I had a fountain view room at the Bellagio for our honeymoon. Loved it.

The wife and I stayed at the Aria Sky Suites for a long weekend. She said the room was one of the best parts of the experience. The view was amazing and the room was super-swanky. I think we only ate out once a day while we were there because they have a 'snack' area where they actually have real food and drinks. Complimentary limo service from and back to the airport. If you have the means, it's pretty rockin'.

Happy birthday to your wife!

I would definitely suggest the Waldorf for 2 reasons- location and hotel experience. Check in lines at the Bellagio are always frightening and getting to your room can be confusing. There, you are just another traveler. At the Waldorf, you are a recognized guest.

I wouldn’t even think about Four Seasons because it’s so far down and who knows what Michael Jackson was doing up in there?!?

Are you going to actually hang around the hotel? If so, then it may be worth it to go high end. If you have a full schedule and will only sleep there then go mid-range like the Mirage and use your money elsewhere.
