Vancouver in June - Recommendations

I’ll be spending a week in Vancouver in late June and am looking for some recommendations/tips. My wife and I (no kids) are staying downtown and have a list of things we’d like to do, but we are looking for other ideas.
We plan to visit these North Shore attractions:
Capilano Suspension Bridge
Grouse Mountain
Stanley Park
Spend an evening or two dining and having drinks around Gastown and possibly a brewery tour and another evening dining and drinking in Granville/Yaletown.
And one day heading up the Sea to Sky Hwy and stopping at Horseshoe Bay, Howe Sound, Shannon Falls, and taking the Gondola up.
Any must eats/must dos around Downtown, and any other recommendations? I wouldn’t mind some light hiking and love the outdoors.
We’ve looked into some helicopter tours, whale watching, white water or kayaking, and day trips to Whistler or Victoria, but am open to other ideas.
Does anyone have recommendations on kayaking or white water outfitters? Helo tours?

Victoria,
Do this
Hit up Butchart Gardens.
The Victoria waterfront is very walkable. You can take a bus/cab/Uber to Butchart Gardens.

We did some great white water rafting there a few years ago near Squamish , I think the company is Canadian outback. Mrs Pimp.went over the side and had to be run down by a kayak, lol.
I’ll be there in June too. Not on your list I might suggest the Richmond Night Market, Chinatown, a day trip to Whistler, We found a lake loop in Whistler for crazy good trail running and hiking. Make noise though- I could not believe how many brown bears we saw. Having lived in Colorado for a decade I was shocked at that.

Or three. I’m staying five in Whistler and seven in Vancouver.
Edit- It’s a 75 mile drive . You could leave at six and be there before eight and leave at eight and be home before the long summer evening is done. It’s doable, I would guess people who live in Vancouver donit all the time.

Is the appeal of Whistler and Victoria the scenery and wilderness? If it’s all hiking and/or biking I may leave my wife back so she can just lay around all day.

I love Butchart Gardens. Went years ago and hope I get to return someday!

Victoria is the Capital of BC. It's a neat city.

We were in Vancouver for three nights last Aug and drove up to Whistler for a day trip. It was at the end of a 10 day Alaskan Land/Sea cruise and we stayed over in Vancouver 'cause I had been there once and thought my wife would like it.
The drive to Whistler is worth the trip for us since we do not have scenery like this where we live.
PS - I would make these pictures smaller if I knew how.

There are lots of restaurants and there were live performers in the a couple of common areas. These are pictures near the restaurant where we ate lunch.

This is a link to a video of a band. Maybe it will play.

I like Vancouver a lot. We had thought about going to Victoria Island but did not realize how long it took to get there and the ferry or the gardens may have been sold out also.
We did go to Stanley Park and got lost and ended up walking about 1/2 way around the perimeter to get back to our transportation. This is the walkway along the water's edge; looking north west on the north east side of the park.

One thing I have been wondering about and maybe someone from the PNW knows the answer. In the part of Vancouver where we were staying, which was about a 1/2 mile from the cruise ship dock, there were very few panhandlers. And if they were there they were very discreet when asking for money.
But when we returned from Whistler we used a different route and bridge in town. We drove down Powell Street and a mile or so from the Gastown area the homeless people were lined up on both sides of the street for blocks. Powell Street goes through the Gastown district and about two blocks before we get there the lines of homeless people stop. I wish I would have taken a picture. It appears that somehow the city leaders have figured out a way to keep the homeless away from the tourist.
How do they do that?
This is a plaque on the Gastown clock. It explains some of the history of the area.

I recommend a day in Victoria. I would take the ferry for the beautiful views. You can get on a bus that goes on the ferry. But you'd be without a car in Victoria but the bus system is pretty good. As others have said the gardens are beautiful and Victoria is a great city with a great downtown where there are places you can sit and eat and drink and look at the harbor.
June is a great time to visit as well. The weather is perfect. You may need a light jacket.
There's the fancy hotel where they do a tradition British tea at 4:00pm.

Do you like baseball? See if the Vancouver Canadians are having a home stand. My brother played for them the summer he got drafted and said the crowds are awesome and atmosphere is fun. The town really embraces the team.
They’ve won the award for best minor league organization multiple times over the last few years.

I like Victoria better than Vancouver. The whole island is pretty damn cool.

Your wife would shoot you if you left her behind while you went to Victoria.
Victoria has a harbor area that has a lot of majestic government buildings, lots of stunning architecture, shops, restaurants, etc. The Empress Hotel is a magnificent old hotel covered with ivy that sits right in the center of the harbor area. They city is very clean with flowers everywhere. You can see the Empress to the left and the Capital building in the distance.
Butchart Gardens is spectacular.

So....day trip to Whistler or Victoria?
Thanks for all the suggestions. I’m making a lot of headway on my itinerary.
