I’m with y’all but I think the idea is to prevent people from congregating in big groups. It’s dumb though I don’t really think anybody would be doing that anyway.

Let’s walk around and make contact with lots of people versus sitting in one spot not near anyone!!!

They're already doing that.

I’m sure the second that Florida tells them they can.

Unless something changes this week, currently, the only county that will be fully open without "restrictions" is Walton county.

The county commissioners voted to open with no restrictions but then said its open to walking, running, swimming, surfing and sun bathing. The confusion comes when they addressed the vendors. There will be no vendors allowed but then went on to say no beach chairs or umbrellas. The question is, did that apply to the vendors or everyone in general.

They will be meeting again on Monday or Tuesday to finalize the ordinance.

I suspect that if the first week goes well, every other beach from Gulf Shores to Panama City will be fully open by May 9.

Wanted to add: Florida Governor Ron Desantis has a ban on short term rentals which expires on April 30. He should be making a decision on Monday or Tuesday to extend that or let it expire.

We are going May 9th to Okaloosa Island. Pools at the resort are open and partial beach opening. Hopefully they will be full open in 2 weeks.

Has there been any clarification on this for Walton County? Ready to pull the trigger on a place for next weekend, but not if I can't sit on the beach...

They are currently having a board meeting clarifying the ordinance. They have yet to get to the beach chair issue. You can sit on the beach all day, but with a chair is not yet known.

Just approved. No beach vendors but you can bring your own chair and umbrella to Walton county. Okaloosa will most likely adopt Waltons ordinance on Thursday.
