The wife and I are taking a trip to the British Isles in May, and I was curious if anyone had experience with taxi options along the lines of Uber/Lyft/etc. in that region. Specifically, we'll be visiting London, Oxford, Edinburgh, Inverness, Dublin, and Kilkenny.

Any suggestions/advice?

TIA

They have Uber. Used it extensively.

But Haleo is more popular in Ireland.

Honestly the tourist areas in these cities are set up more for walking or in the case of London throw in the tube.

You will not likely be using a car much and Taxi's are very readily available, usually already lined up wherever you may be unless outside the central districts.

Edinburgh is one of my favorite cities, take the train from London, it is worth the trip.

I used Uber in Dublin two weeks ago without issue. And as mentioned very popular in the UK.

Yeah, we're excited about it. We'll be taking a train from Oxford (where my BIL lives) to Edinburgh.

Flying outta ATL tomorrow night to Heathrow. Daughter & 3 grandkids(they've been over there for 14yrs) live about 2hrs north of London in Downham Market between Kings Lynn & Ely. SonIL currently deployed in Turkey but they're currently based outta RAF Lakenheath for school etc. (Previously at RAF Croughton & RAF Mildenhall)...

We're headed to Edinburgh for 3 days on Monday then 1 day up to St Andrews before we head back to Cambridge for a coupla days to visit friends & the Kings College where my oldest grand daughter will start classes in the fall. Also gonna stay 2 nights in London..

Will post pics and comments when we get back the weekend of the 14th, maybe it will help...

It really is fun taking the tube in London, so please do get yourself an Oyster card as soon as you arrive. And you'll be amazed and how genuinely nice and helpful the staff are if you get confused by anything.

Enjoy it - England is so great.
