Yup, sounds like there was an agreement behind the scenes and then the D's renegged on it.

Would have funded everything except ICE then the R's would have used reconciliation to fund it, so the Dems could say they didn't vote for it.

Think the R's fricked up in running out and bragging about it and bringing more light to it, forcing the D's to vote no to make their constituents happy.

It is pretty insane this is how the Dems are trying to abolish ICE. Multiple proposals have been put forth that had no increased ICE spending for the remainder of the year and they still vote them down.

Midterm posturing is just the absolute worst and all it does is inconvenience the people. In the end, everything will get funded, people just want to be able to make their campaign commercials.

late afternoon. People are saying Tuesday-Thursday are fine. However, this will be another week with no pay check so I don't think things will get worse across the board

I picked Easter night because it would be easy
If lines from afternoon travel are backed up, it could bleed into the evening

Monday AM I think is going to be bad regardless

I know. I am going to keep a close watch on it, and these threads more, and if it stays bad, I'm hopping in the care before bedtime and driving through the night.

I refuse to stand in a 4 hour line with a 3 year old and 4 month old.

Senate voted unanimously to re-open the govt last night. Now its on the House to do so today.

Looks like Thursday was the day as I mentioned on Monday.

Sort of. Technically, the House cannot vote on it today under their current rules, so they have to change the rules to vote on it

Yes, as long as they change the rules to allow a vote... Repubs fricked up previously and put rules in place that you can't vote Thur-Sunday in order to attempt to stop shite getting rammed through without being read.

Well now they need a vote ASAP.

I'd be they end up voting by EOD and you see things at airports start to ease up early next week when pay starts to hit accounts.

Also I’m seeing on political board that Trump signed an executive order to pay TSA. How does this all play with the voting?

It essentially doesn't matter now unless the House voted not to fund.

Then it becomes a game of chicken. Technically Trump's order probably isn't legal, but someone would have to legally challenge it which is what Trump wants

The House looks to be taking it up, so there will be a vote by EOD and pasage.

I doubt Trump's EO is legal
