My wife and I are going on out first vacation in a few years to Destin. Are there any places we need to go eat or things we need to do? I've been on trip advisor and started making a list. I just want some more options.

The Crystal Beach area is really nice especially if you have the money to get one of the beautiful beach houses just across from the water.
We like to access the beach right across from Camille's Cafe. You can walk up from the beach and grab a really good sandwich and/or a fruity alcoholic drink and bring it back down. There's also a bike rental next door.
We decided this last time that eating at the touristy seafood spots is extremely overrated. Pompano Joe's had really, really average food that cost us $75 for three people. The view is unmatched, but we would have eaten better and cheaper if I had cooked it myself.

Haven't been in a few years, but I always liked lunch at Dewey Destin's. Very casual, laid back place with good fried seafood.
30A is nice, but it can be an hour drive each way from Destin during busy season. Then when you get there, it's really crowded and congested.

Don't drive the whole 30A from Dune Allen. Stay on 98 until you need to go south.
Cafe Tango is a good date night dinner spot.

Make reservations at the new Emerils in Sandestin. It’s “coastal Italian”, nothing like his other concepts. You won’t be disappointed.

And a nice view that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I loved their grilled shrimp
