Depends on where you want to go. But Europe really is behind on vaccinations. They just started giving them in the last week or 2 and were late to contract for deliveries so they are at the end of the line. I'm sure they won't open up until their people have been vaccinated which may be next year.

What sucks is that overseas budget travel is going to be a thing of the past. Fuel prices will eventually get ridiculous for airlines and budget minded carriers operating trans Atlantic flights will be no more.

This is why I picked Croatia.

They were open to US visitors last summer so I'm leaning on them needing to do it again.

Turkey may have been an even safer bet.

I've been talking about a summer or European travel but that doesn't appear likely now two years of nothing will suck

Then what happens when the demand plummets? A huge segment of devout travelers are very budget savvy.

I am in the same boat. Not looking to have covid restrictions mess up a vacation. May have to try for something different in the US

I have several vouchers from Delta and credits to use and I had planned on going to Europe and making use of them but I'm not excited about US travel. Especially since shite is still locked down in most states and will probably still be phase 2/3 in the summer

Not the UK. Because of Brexit, they are way ahead even of the US in vaccination rate. They have vaccinated about eight times the percent of their population that the EU has.

I would feel very comfortable planning a vacation to anywhere in the UK this summer. They, like the US, are going to have almost no cases by the end of May.

Smoke crack much? The UK has done a good job with vaccinations but May is a crack pipe dream.

This all assumes vaccines work as predicted and the supplies keep ramping up, but one of the better data modelers has the US at 21,000 infections a day on June 1st.

That's not reported cases, which will probably be a half to 3/4 of that number.

By end of June that number hits 4,000 actual infections, not just reported, but all, a day.

Let's hope he's right.

Then you'll have some budget and low cost carriers merge, sending more brands to the grave.
