Gents, Help me out here. I have ~150k points on a chase business CC. I would like to get them to American Airlines. Tell me if I have this right:
I can transfer Chase to British Airways and then transfer to AA? or just book on BA?

Partner award availability would have to be available on BA for the AA flight your looking for.
What are the dates and airports you're wanting to fly?

AA doesn't have any transfer partners for now. It's rumored that's coming down the pipe with the new Citi card coming but as of now, AA has no partners
You have to turn your points into BA avios and then book the AA flight through BA
Not sure if Chase has access to Alaska or Hawaiian but seems like the best AA redemptions come through Alaska
You can go directly through United and JetBlue (who also has AA rewards) though with Chase points so if you are striking out on AA through JetBlue or BA, you have those domestic options

Also, Hyatt is by far the best bang for your buck for Chase points. I'd use Amex or Cap One points for flights if possible.
Amex is a direct transfer partner with Hawaiian, and Hawaiian can be transferred to Alaska. Alaska has the best reward redemption value for American Airlines flights

Yes. I transfer my BA Avios to Iberia Avios and use Madrid as my hub into Italy or Spain. You can also transfer to Aer Lingus. Off-peak I get business class from Miami to Madrid for 45000 Avios.
It also doesn’t apply to AA redemptions through BA and their domestic redemptions for AA flights used to be ridiculously low compared to AA. Not sure about now.

The BA & AA nonsense with those fees are coming through London. Those really good AA domestic flights on Avios did go up but I think overall it's still a good price.

Hyatt is a great way to go, but UR has some great transfer bonuses to airlines that easily give more value. If you get a lot of MR and/or Cap1, then yeah UR for hotel and others for flights, but not all people can earn lots of points on both. I finally bit the bullet and got the Venture X so now I have the CSR, AMEX Plat, and X. I need to get my Cap1 balance up quick as my UR & MR are nice.

This. Chase also has an excellent portal to book hotel rooms and their redemptions are lower than redeeming on a hotel site. They also have a huge number of hotels to redeem Chase points on (as does Amex) so you aren't stuck with one hotel brand to choose from.
1) Airline transfers
2) Hotel portal redemptions
4) Hyatt

You get much better value booking via chase than transferring

You are capped at 1.25cpp or 1.5cpp depending on which card you have. While that is better than using points to book through AmEx or CapOne, you can routinely get better redemptions through transfer partners
Example. Just looking on seats.aero you can find flights from DFW to MIA on 4/9. Through Alaskan, you can find economy flights for 7.5k and $19
That same flight costs $169 through American. That's a 2cpp redemption

I appreciate that info

I do think there are situations where if you have the CSR and can get that 1.5cpp redemption rate through the Chase portal, that going that route would make sense for shorter economy flighta
But I would always check transfer partners first just to confirm
But you will almost never find a better redemption for long haul international flights

I have never seen that website before. It is almost worth the $10 monthly fee. I use expertfler most of the time. I probably have 2m AAdvantage miles right now.
