One night at an all inclusive we were having dinner and it was sort of a communal hibachi table. My wife and I had been drinking all day and she was a little lit up.
We were the first ones getting up to leave and I realized I literally only had 1 dollar on me. So I put it under my drink glass and was getting up to leave.
But my wife said very loudly "LOOK I WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU SEE OUR TIP."
1 dollar.
I've never been more embarrassed in my life.

Having been to Excellence El Carmen 2 years ago, I highly suggest tipping bartenders, and the girls/guys who bring you drinks at the beach/pool $10-20 as soon as you get your first drink. You'll have them coming check on you every 20 mins.

The really really nice AI resorts are pretty against tipping and typically discourage it.
I would imagine at Excellence you would be better off throwing the bartenders/servers in whatever area you are at a $10-20 to ensure better service the entire day.
