Any ideas on a quick weekend getaway within about 5 hours from Slidell that is not the beach. Would be with wife and 14 year old daughter.

We are ready to pack up and hit the road.

Hot Springs, AR is about 7 hours away.

Pretty much anywhere in the Houston area.

Honestly, Downtown Pensacola is pretty nice and not directly on the beach. Great night life, farmers market, few good restaurants, Navy Base, baseball, fishing

There is always Natchez.

When we want a vacation within a short drive from New Orleans it is usually to Destin. If you don’t want the beach, Natchez is one of the nicer places just a couple of hours away.

We did Broken Bow for Easter. Lake was too cold for water activities but we want to go back soon.

Go to the Marrriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear Alabama.
It’s on the eastern shore of the Mobile Bay. It’s an awesome resort.

Fairhope is a neat little town nearby.
