Taking the wife to Boston in May! We plan to go to a red Sox game, freedom trail, Sam Adams, etc! What are some must do's and eats while there? Help is appreciated!

We went in December. Really cool city. I'd suggest downloading the freedom trail app and doing it on your own over going on a tour. Get a lobster roll from somewhere (not Luke's).. we had one from saltie girl. Very good but a bit pricy.

Sam Adams,
It's all the way over in Jamaica Plain, and they do most of their brewing out of state anyway...the Sam in JP is mostly for guided tours and such, with a very small selection of beers.
However, they just opened their new taproom downtown, and it's awesome. It's right by Faneuil Hall. I went to the soft opening last week, and not only is a beautiful space but they have a great selection, and the tap wall is full of not only the classics, but also beers that you can only get in the taproom. The food looked good, too, although I didn't manage to eat any of it.
The point is, I wouldn't spend the time to go all the way to JP to go to Sam if I had limited time in Boston. Their beer is sold almost anywhere you go, and if you're dying to get it at the source, the new taproom is also a working brewery.

Hell of a guide. Had to buy this guy a beer for all his help while I was there.

You didn't HAVE to, but it was certainly appreciated.

The guide HGG posted should have some useful information and is a good place to start. Always happy to answer specific questions though.
Fair warning: May can still be pretty cold, especially if you're sitting in the shade at Fenway, so pack accordingly.
As others have mentioned, I'd recommend not going to the Sam Adams in Jamaica Plain - it's a decent trek and honestly it's very touristy. The new one next to Faneuil Hall is right next to my office, so I've walked by many times and it looks nice. I'd recommend Trillium, Harpoon, Lamplighter, Nightshift, or a number of others before I'd send you to Sam Adams.

You work close to the SO! His office is one of the market street buildings. I didn't realize you were down there, this means that we all have to do a happy hour! Also, I know Sam's not really your vibe, but you SHOULD pop into the new taproom for a beer, it's really nice.

I also want free Harpoon pretzels.

Just called my sis. His name is Rich Doyle and his daughter’s name is Addi Doyle. Google away....
He sold his share of Harpoon last year and is a silent partner in a handful of craft breweries in Texas and Asheville. Lemme see what else I can find.

The owner of Yvonne’s opened a new place recently right next door to my office called Mariel. It’s equally as great as Yvonnes. Next time you’re in town I highly recommend checking it out.

Are any of these kid friendly? Video games or anything to entertain while we enjoy a few beer.

They're all kid friendly in the sense that children are allowed, but none of the ones I names have video games, to the best of my knowledge. I know for a fact Trillium and Harpoon don't. Most people who have kids usually bring coloring books or an ipad to distract them.
Dorchester Brewing does have a small arcade area, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to go there.

Island Creek Oyster Bar near Fenway. Killer lobster roll, chowder, and raw oysters.
