Headed to St Louis this weekend. Specifically I’m going see Cardinals and Yankees baseball series at Busch. I’m staying within walking distance of the stadium.
Reason for thread: Looking for any and all daytime recs, places to go, top most recommended breweries, etc…
Thanks

I'm going the following weekend, so I have been looking at this thread
Already booked a reservation at Charlie Gitto's, seemed to be a crowd favorite. We are also planning on going to a Thai place called Fork & Stix. It was highly rated online.
As far as beer... Perennial, Side Project, Shared, 2nd Shift, and Narrow Gauge. Narrow Gauge is by the airport, but the others are close by.

Will there be any kids? If so I'll add later..
breweries .. Perennial(avoid the location closest to downtown and go to the other one), 4 hands, Urban chestnut, Rockwell, 2nd shift, Civil life. Pretty much in that order. Side project wins the best brewery in the nation awards, but their beers are too...much for me.
AB tour should also be high because of the history of the beer and how popular it is.
Places to go: Go to forest park. Once there hit up Art hill and the Zoo(free). Our zoo ranks high as one of the best and like I said, its free. Also inside of Forest park is a lake with a restaurant with pretty good BBQ. cool spot to relax and watch people/see art hill and golf courses. Also theres a small neighborhood called dogtown(Irish neighbrhood) that has a few great places to eat.
Speaking of BBQ: #1 Bogarts #2 Pappys #3 salt + smoke #4 sugarfire #5 Grace meat
I recommend visiting the Hill. The Hill is a Italian neighborhood with some of the best Italian in the country. Its where the opposing players always dine out and other big names that come in. Theres a few cool bars like Milos there as well. All the restaurants are amazing so no need to name.
Union station got a massive make over and has restaurants and a massive Farris wheel with a great view of the city.
Last visit Clayton, its a separate downtown but full of wealth.
Safety tip. absolutely do not go north of Washington ave. And if you choose to visit the bars and shops on Washington ave, leave before dusk.

I'm a huge fan of the Broadway Oyster Bar. It's practically in the shadow of the ballpark. Saturday has live music starting at around noon or 1. All Roostered Up is kind of the Saturday house band. Pretty good.
I've heard a lot of good things about Vin De Set which is in Lafayette Square... more across the tracks from Union Station.
I also liked The Shaved Duck, it's a bit of a drive through some old neighborhoods but worth the trip. It's a small little joint.
If I'm not going for just a ballgame I really like downtown Clayton. Park the car and walk to numerous places to eat and drink. JP Fields is an old school neighborhood bar with good food, not just bar food... good food.
I also love the Budweiser tour. They have 3 or 4 different ones.

Went a couple weeks ago and stayed at The Last Hotel
It had an awesome rooftop pool with a rooftop bar and grill, and is about half a mile from Busch. STL is pretty run down and depressing outside of the ballpark area
ETA: sorry, misread your thread, thought you were asking about where to stay. Literally all we did was drink at the hotel and go to the game. The City Museum next door to The Last Hotel did look pretty cool though

Clark and Bourbon in the Loews Hotel across the street from ballpark was pretty good. The Whiskey Room is cool.
Didn’t eat at Salt + Smoke by the ballpark but it smelled good.
Be sure to check out the Cardinals museum lots of good stuff to look at there. Can also do a stadium tour. If you’ve never been to the Arch, the museum there is interesting. If you want to do the ride to the top of the arch better try to get tickets now.

I’ll be there 3 days. No kids. Staying at Hyatt at the Arch. It’s only about 4 blocks from the Stadium (and the map shows it’s south of Washington Ave ).
Feels like Anheuser-Busch tour is definitely a must. But I certainly want to try another couple of breweries. I assume they only last 1-2 hours each? I’ll try to schedule some at the ones listed above.
Thanks for all the replies. Good info

Yep, everything there and towards the stadium when the cards are in town(extra police) is totally safe.
Ya tour is about an hour with free beer after at the biergarden. AB is in a area called soulard which is an old French district. crap ton of bars and restaurants. Bogarts(my #1 bbq) is in soulard and 4 hands is almost walking distance from soulard. you can end there before the game and several bars have free shuttles to busch stadium.

I’m headed to St. Louis the following weekend for the first time not just passing through. So far we have a reservation at Charlie Gitto’s, hitting a Cards game on Friday. I was told to hit Broadway for live music after the game or bounce around Ballpark Village. Saturday plan on eating at Giola’s (sandwich shop) and checking out Anheuser Busch before the wedding Saturday afternoon/night. Sunday brunch somewhere - I hear Rooster is a new hot spot but open to any suggestions. If we have time, we were going to check out Ted’s before flying out. We are also staying downtown.

This pic was taken last week of his home. So if you're walking the area you'll know to look out and you can find it.
Joes house is right across the street
Also the restaurant Cunetto's is cool to go to, not because the food is great(its ok) but because until recently - maybe even still - owned and operated with mafia ties.
