My wife's employer had a house there. Stayed there many times.
It is so exclusive, it's boring. There is no one on the beach except for the Cloister and then it's just a few. There are no restaurants or any type of commercial enterprise unless you go to/invited to the Cloister.
The last time we were there, the landscapers started at 10 AM and went forever.
Is it nice? Extremely. There was a G8 summit held there. The skeet range is top notch. Bring your Krieghoff.

Yeah, I was worried about that.
Thanks.

How long will you be there? Will you have a car?
St Simons has some good food offerings and a few historic sites.
Savannah is a day trip.

If you are a golfer it is a fantastic resort. You can get a charter fishing trip, ride horses on the beach or just relax. Used to spend a month every summer from the time I was seven until around 35. It's a great family trip. We rented a "cottage" on the island.

There’s a burger place in the way in called Certified Burgers. I thought it was really good.

Rodo, I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong idea about Sea Island. It's a gated community with a resort.
In my golden years, that's great. When my grandchildren were young, I had access to a 5br/5bath cottage with a pool/golf cart/bicycles.
They are older now and we rent condos at the Beach Club. There is a lot of kids they can play with and we enjoy interacting with other families.
I've played golf at Seaside, Retreat and Hampton Point. They're excellent golf courses. They are also expensive and I'm just a regular guy. When we stayed there in the past, I played golf on Jekyll Island. It's an island south of St. Simons that's owned by the state of Georgia. It's more reasonable and there is a seafood restaurant by the marina that's great. Victors?
St. Simons also has one of my favorite seafood restaurants. Georgia Sea Grill.
In conclusion....My mother taught me to write essays and abstracts.... Don't think that the area adjacent to Sea Island is without merit. It's enjoyable.
