Planning a short weekend trip. Is the Pheonecian as good as any resort to stay or any other resorts significantly better in the area? Looking for pool, spa, etc.

Haven't been, but Fairmont resorts have BOGO night through June, the one in Scottsdale looks nice. Just to give you another option, have been looking at similar trip.

I recommend giving Boulders a look, it’s a truly beautiful experience. Also, you may want to call the properties you’re considering to confirm what amenities are available.

Going next month. Booked at the Boulders Resort.

I am guessing the person who downvoted you has stayed in the hotels/ resorts listed and just has a different opinion. I have stayed at both The Phoenician and The Fairmont due to company trips. I will have to check out The Boulders.
The Phoenician is really special.

We stayed at the Omni a couple years ago...loved it!

The Phoenician is great, but also take a look at the Arizona Biltmore. We stayed there a couple of years ago and really liked it.

The only place I’ve ever stayed at in Scottsdale is the Arizona Biltmore.
Granted, most of the time it’s been business-related and meetings and/or fellow business folk tied to the property.
It’s a wonderful hotel.

Arizona Biltmore.
My favorite Property. Such great pools, the rooms....when i'm in Phx, that's where I stay.
Never stayed out in Scottsdale besides a nice Courtyard off Pima Rd/by the Casino.
The Marriott Property looks great, too..JW Camelback, Next time I might stay there

Biltmore is currently closed FYI. Has be closed since last March due to COVID
They are supposed to reopen March 1. Supposedly did a ton of renovations (think I read they built a brand new pool area) during closure.

Stayed this past month at The Fairmont in a villa and then at the Boulders - Fairmont is a sprawling property - the villas were great - the Mexican restaurant was unreal - I have eaten at the steak house before and it was really good. The fairmont is. not set away in the mountains, more in a residential community next to TPC
THe JW is great - would recommend
We then stayed at the Boulders - it is like staying in an VRBO - every property is owned by someone and hilton manages them - we had several couples and the quality between the villas was vast - ours was super nice, theirs has not be updated since the 90s - the Drunk Donkey was good - wives said the spa was average - good golf course, but we played Troon and Grayhawk Raptor - by far better
