I'll be in Austin this weekend, too - someone in our group got us an invitation through their app. Looking forward to it!

Rainey street or if you want local hangouts,

Not anymore. The whole place is lined with high rises and hotels.

Yea, I know. I was recommending Little Darlins and Cosmic Cafe as a more locals place. Also, Sams Townpoint for live music. Rainey street is well past its prime. The bars that remain cater to tourists.

Yeah, I read your message wrong. Rainey still has some fun places, but it's not the local hangouts.

Electric Shuffle on Rainey is cool and I find myself at STP a couple times a month. Way off the beaten path and definitely a dive, but cool and laid back.

If you're down that way, I go to Moontower/Armadillo Den a ton as well OP.

Also, dont go out by yourself. You could end up dead in Lady Bird Lake.

Moontower has a ton of parking, Armadillo Den, not so much.

The owner/manager of Armadillo is an LSU fan and you'll see signs up there. The Hive coffeeshop down the street is owned by an LSU alum as well

If it was in the evening it was probably just people going to see the Congress Street bats. They gather down there every evening.

I'm well aware they found a body. The poster said they saw a large crowd down by the water and they found a body the next day. I highly doubt, based on where the body was found and the time between when the person went missing and when the body was found, that a large crowd would have gathered around Lady Bird.

No, He said HE found out the next day that it was a body.

Not that they found the body the next day.
