I'm sure the wife and daughters would enjoy.

Crystal Bridges
Drive to Eureka Springs
Any of the state parks around Fayetteville would be worthwhile hiking

Hugo's off Fayetteville Square is an underground/basement burger/beer joint that is a local institution. There can be a significant wait, but you can sign up for a text alert.

Prelude or Farmer’s Table for breakfast/brunch.
Onyx for coffee.
City Park is a cool, open air place for lunch/drinks.
Leverett Lounge for dinner (it’s not big, so I would suggest getting reservations).
Devil’s Den State Park (just south of town) has good hiking trails.

Go to Wright’s in Johnson for barbecue. (About 15 min. from F’ville.)
Drive up to Bella Vista (about 40 min.) to see the Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel by AR architect E. Fay Jones. (Stunning, and well worth it.)
If you bike, AR has a well-developed network of trails, both off-road and paved. Check out the state tourism website for details.
If you go to Crystal Bridges (recommended), look for the Frank Lloyd Wright Usonian home located on the museum grounds.

Wrights in Johnson for BBQ
Pizzeria Ruby in Johnson for Italian
City Park for lunch or dinner
Hugo's for dinner
Fayetteville Taco and Tamale for lunch or dinner
For little kids, Fayetteville Public Library is really nice with a cool children's section and has 'The Ramble' behind it, which is a cool paved walking and play area under development (first phase only at this point, but will extend into an outdoor arts, nature and entertainmnet corridor over the years.
Devil's Den would be my recommendation for hiking. The northern loops of Devil's Race Track is a really cool shorter hike with some epic trail building. You can see some photos here:

Crystal Bridges in Bentonville is really fantastic and worth hiking around the grounds if nothing else. The Amazeum is okay (pretty typical discovery/science museum). Coler Preserve is also worth checking out in Bentonville. If you get a big day of weather, you might check out Climb Bentonville. Huge climbing gym that's also set up well for kids. There's also a Boulder's and Brew in Fayetteville, but it's not quite the same set up (more for serious climbing/bouldering). Altitude is the trampoline park in Fayetteville if you need another indoor option.
As someone else mentioned, bikes are big. Lots of greenway and lots of unpaved trails. Great way to see the area. If you want to drive a little further than Devil's Den, the Buffalo is always amazing. Lost Valley is a fantastic hike with a lot of fun exploring through "easy" caves and natural bridges for kids.
