Recommendation for authentic Chicago pizza?

We'll be traveling through and just want to see what it's all about. Chicago is deep pie, correct? Looking for a good place, maybe not too far off I-90/94 as we're just passing through.
TIA

Find pizza section in my guide and enjoy: LINK
I'll copy and paste for ease, though:
Popularly known for deep dish and pan. It's a polarizing topic for everyone, but especially those living here. Most popular of these styles is Pequod's, Lou Malnati's, and Giordano's.
I've raved about Milly's Pizza in the Pan for years on this board. Going to keep beating that drum, but it is popping up on TikTok a decent amount and Time Out named it one of the best in the world. Seems everyone caught up!
Moving on to pizza that people here actually eat: tavern / thin. Some of my favorites are Bungalow by Middle Brow (Tuesday only), PIZZ'AMICI, Kim Uncle's, Danny's Pizza Place, Phil's Pizza, Michael's Original, Frank's Pizzeria, Zarella, Pat's Pizzeria, and Vito & Nick's.
Robert's Pizza has become increasingly popular and Pizzeria Portofino is most Instagrammable.
Bar forward pizza places: Pizza Lobo, Parlor Pizza, Homeslice, Happy Camper, Paradise Park, and Stopalong.
Best Neapolitan and wood- and coal-fired is Spacca Napoli, Coalfire, and Strapoli. If you’re in West Loop, may as well do Forno Rosso.
Large, NY slices aren’t super prevalent here, but Pizza Amelia, Zazas, Jimmy’s Pizza Cafe, Chomp’s, and Piece (closer to New Haven) do a solid job.
Detroit has been making a real push lately, and a number of places have been doing it very, very well. My recommendations are Sharpie’s, Paulie Gee’s (Logan Square), and Middle Brow’s “outpost” at The Beer Temple.

Lou Malnatis is what I've enjoyed for the "popular originals" deep dish. But really just look for a neighborhood place near you. Ie Renaldi's on Broadway, but more of regular pizza.
Do keep in mind the deep dish is a dinner, so it takes time for to be made. So don't expect it out in a 15 mins.
Rosati's is a solid chain you can get a deep dish from. But recommendation...get regular pizza and some fries. My inner fat kid was changed forever the first time I got that combo. You can thank me later

I lived there for a long time.
You can have deep dish, but its mostly for tourists and suburbanites. The real party trick is the thin crispy crust bar pizza.
If you are going through on 80-94, Rico's in Lansing IL is pretty good. House of Pizza in Hammond is decent. Villa Nova in Chesterton and New Buffalo is amazing. Route 66 at the state line has a killer sausage pizza but not dine-in.
Honestly I'd skip the deep dish. My personal favorites are sausage/cheese at Route 66 or giardinera/pepp/cheese at Villa Nova.
Also Vito & Nicks near Midway AIrport is a famous place that I think is just mid. There is a facebook group called "Chicago-style Thin Crust Pizza Forever!" and you can search by the neighborhood or suburbs you are going to be near.
What are your travel destinations on 80-94?

Yeah it requires reading between the lines to say the least. Quite a lot of toxic attitudes. Also not all suggestions are good ones. I tried a few last month that were mid at best.

Honestly I would head for the ferry in Milwaukee or Manitowoc, the south end of the lake is a real CF in the summer on weekends.

about the last thing I’d want on a road trip is a belly full of pizza casserole. Get a tavern pizza you’ll be much happier
