I know there’s been quite a few threads about hill country, etc. I was hoping for some tips on cowboy stuff in that area that a kid would enjoy doing/seeing, whether it’s a rodeo, horseback riding, festivals, etc. Any tips would be helpful with Wimberley as home base in June. TIA

When in June? There are small rodeos happening all over the Hill Country...just depends on what part of the month and how far you're willing to drive from Wimberley.

yes there are rodeos in small towns. Unfortunately, the Wimberley Rodeo is May 27-28th, so you will just miss it.

The Stonewall Peach festival and rodeo is mid June.

Make sure to float the Comal or go to Pedernales Falls, Blanco River State Park, or something similar. A June trip with kids to the Hill Country should include some fun in one of the rivers. There is nothing more Hill Country summer than tubing.
