Puerto Rico daytime ideas

Going down to San Juan with some buds for 4 nights one week from tomorrow. The first two nights we are staying nearby the University of PR, and the last two nights will be a beach condo in Old Town SJ. Probably will be a lot of drinking and bar hopping each night. However, I would like to make the most of the daytime, and am trying to get some ideas for the 4 full days we are there.
One day we plan to go out West to the Arecibo Observatory and Cavernas de Camuy.
Another day we will go to El Yunque.
There are also places we want to go too like the Baccardi Factory, which would probably last at least half a day
What are some other things to do and see on the island, anything from attractions to backcountry ideas?

Anybody? There's not much on this board about PR. I searched

La Ruta del Lechón or Pork Highway is neat. About an hour drive south of SJ. It's very rural. Good daytime back country trip.
Bio luminescent bay on Vieques. This is a spend the night trip but well worth it if you can swing it. Get there by small plane or ferry.

La Perla is interesting on the north side of old San Juan. It is the most poor and drug infested area in the Caribbean. You can walk along the old San Juan wall about 40 feet above the area and look down into the area. DO NOT GO DOWN THERE.
One side of wall is multi million dollar homes over looking the Atlantic Ocean and other side of wall is ocean front shacks.

Culebra beach is about the best day trip you can do in PR. If you have a car the marina at Fajardo is right past el yunque and you can hit the Luquillo kiosks on the way back.
Edit: pork belly mofongo at Bebo’s Cafe

Culebra.
Day trip is too rushed, best to stay a night. Island is incredible

Check out the caves around Arecibo. One has a great view; another has an underground river that you can hear roaring nearby.
Also, you can grab a bite to eat from the roadside vendors. Coconut mojitos (or your beverage of choice) hit the spot after a long day in the sun.

If you have a car drive across the island to Cabo Rojo. The salt turns everything pink and it's really cool. Playa Sucia is a pretty nice beach in the Cabo Rojo area. You can walk up from the beach to the lighthouse at sunset and watch the waves crash into the side of the cliff. It's pretty awesome, just dont fall down. You might also consider a rain forest hike up to a waterfall.
I know you said day time but you might consider going to one of their bioluminescent bays at night. Puerto Rico has multiple of these. Also Silk is a nearby restaurant in San Juan that has some really good sushi pizza. It's not "Puerto Rican" per se but I've never seen it anywhere else and its awesome. Enjoy the bars in San Juan. It's a really fun place to go out with lots of local talent

When we went I rented a car and hit the locals beaches and road side markets. Drive out to the bioluminescent bays then back. Great way to kill a day.

Definitely spend more time in El Yunque and a couple nights at Culebra. Was there for about a week a few months ago and those were my 2 favorite spots, things to do.

Itinerary is just about set, me and my buddies hashed it out over a cold one and cigars last night:
Thursday-arrive in morning, grab a bite, head to El Yunque and hike [anyone recommend a good trail to go on?], swing by roadside stand for dinner on the way to hotel, check into hotel/night plan.
Friday-head out west to Aerbico Observatory, check out some caves [do you have the name of a cave/will cavernas de camuy be reopened?], and hit up a beachside town for lunch. Go back to hotel and get ready for La Placita at night
Saturday-Sleep in some, check out, go to the Bacarrdi Factory, hit up the Fort on OSJ, and go out in OSJ
Sunday-beach party with friends of friends, hang out in SJ, go out at night
We're going to work in a trip to the casino eventually. Also will be looking to get some grass after getting off the plane, before hiking and caving trips

daytime only, right? So probably not interested in the bio-luminescent / phosphorescent tours, right?

Cueva Ventana looks to be open. It is the cave that opens up to a beautiful view.
Check in with El Yunque when you arrive to find out which trails have re-opened. Mt. Britton takes you to the peak. La Mina is still closed.
Bring good, non-slippery shoes for caving and hiking.

I like to day drink and gamble at La Concha. Maybe eat an empanada on the beach. But I’m pretty easy to please.

yeah, my friend got to plan the night activities-mostly bar and club related, and I got left with the day trip stuff. He said to me he's seen the bio bays and didn't think they were that impressive

I don't remember the names of the trails but ask or read the signs to find out the degree of difficulty before going down one. We didn't and had to come back prematurely. Our group wasn't ready for the steep incline and rough terrain on the first one we tried.
