Subway crime is up 68% from last year, with over 600 violent crimes committed on the subway in 2022 compared to 300 and change last year.

I wonder if there was something going on in 2021 that caused fewer people to use the subway.

So crime is up 60% from last year, guess the increase in ridership since last year......56%. Funny how that works.

That makes sense if the stats are accurate. What I want to know though, is how overall crime stats have increased since DiBlasio was elected until now, adjusted for the pandemic decrease due to fewer people visiting the city for a year or two. The city is absolutely NOT as safe as it was a few years ago, before DiBlasio. My friends who live in the city say most people are concerned and/or nervous.

Well, except for the fact that most of the increase in ridership is because of tourists coming back post-COVID restrictions, and offices getting people back to work. Those generally aren’t the people committing crimes. And crime is up across the board in the city in general.
