I booked Times Square Marriot Marquis
Want to see NYC during the holidays. Going to checkout Rockefeller center Christmas Tree, Plaza Hotel, Macy’s
Also want to check out 9/11 memorial and Top of the Rock
Was debating on doing a broadway show or maybe Rockettes Christmas Spectacular
What show would you recommend?

Looking at either Gallagher’s or Keens one night for steak as well

I went in September and my wife really wanted to see Hamilton and I was skeptical but that was one of the best things I’ve ever seen. It’s worth the money in my opinion

I would agree, especially with kids.

My family of 4 went last year during Christmas and we are going back this year. We saw the Rockettes show, really enjoyed it. We are planning to see it again this year.

All the things you want to see can be done in 2 days. All of them except the 911 memorial are fairly close together. If you walk at a normal pace you may even be able to throw in a few more sites.

Check out the Slipper Room for an awesome burlesque show in a very old theatre. It’s small and cozy, not a bad seat in there.

Are you with your S/O or with kids as well?
I think most of the stuff on your checklist is very doable. I’d try and break it up in to parts of the city so that your not wasting time going up and down the whole city multiple times.

Going to be with my girlfriend.
As of now here is the plan:
Sunday land at 10:30. Check in
9/11 memorial tour at 2pm. Keens steakhouse at 6:30
Monday: rockettes at 2pm
Then will do top of the rock afterwards then check out the tree when it gets dark.

I’m thinking Monday morning is when we can get up and go check out the Plaza and Central Park
Also gonna head over to Bryant Park after dinner Sunday

I’m not a big fan of Bryant Park that time of year. Lots of little “mall” type kiosks hoping to sell Christmas tree ornaments and bottle openers with your name on it. They also do an ice skating rink, but IMO it’s the third best in the city. I much prefer skating in Central Park. I love the plaza, and our daughter 12 loves doing afternoon tea with Eloise. Reservations a must. They have a nice cocktail lounge in there as well. I was always partial to the Waldorf but The Plaza is quite the iconic place.
I’ve never done the Rainbow Room above the Rock but it’s on my list. I’ve done the NBC studios tour, and much better than I was expecting.
Does the Marriott in times Sauare still spin? I know they remodeled.

First mistake. NEVER stay anywhere near times square. its crazy, its loud, and its too bright at night.

Things to do: Top op the Rock, 9/11 memorial, Rockefeller center is great, check out the Brooklyn Bridge, and Battery Park with views of the Statue of Liberty is quite nice. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is great and large. Central Park and a walk around the reservoir is beautiful.

Definitely do Rockettes if you can. its seasonal vs broadways and they are spectacular.

food: Best Steakhouse in NYC IS Peter Luger's in Queens. Chelsea Market, Smorgasborg food festival in Brooklyn on Saturday is unreal. Check out little Italy food great Italian food and MAKE SURE you try Shake Shack if you have the chance for a slammin' burger.

hope your stay is amazing.

Order their thick-cut bacon appetizer. It might be the best thing on their menu.

Yes. I went with my wife and sis. It’s not overly sexual at all. It’s funny and entertaining. The host was hilarious

Get some Manhattan clam chowder at The Grand Central Oyster bar and walk The High Line.

I would skip Bryant and Central Park and hit Washington Square Park after the high line. Walk from higher numbered streets to lower.

Everything at the Grand Central Station Oyster Bar is great. Our daughter who is now 12 used to get funny looks when she’d talk about loving going out to eat at the train station.
Also agree the high line is good as well.

Keens is better and closer than Peter Lugers.
