Need help with a midsummer destination

There are so many options with this request.

We did Tahoe last year with a large family and loved it. Water is very cold though.

If you want something more swimmable, chalets on table rock lake in Missouri are cool, especially if you have kids.

Lake toxaway in NC is nice.

This part can be a challenge. A lot lakes just don’t have companies that will do this.

We were able to do it on Coeur d'Alene Lake in Idaho, which I would highly recommend. Water won’t be warm even in the dead of summer but it’s a beautiful lake. You can also boat into town and tie up and explore, which is fun.

Whitefish and Flathead lakes in Montana are awesome as well, but we only found day rentals when we went. Again, cold water.

A couple other lakes I’ve really liked are Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia and Chatuge Lake on the NC/GA border. Both of these have great Mountain views, but certainly will have humidity

Dells is also a trash bin of people. There are so many better lake towns in Wisconsin.

This is going to be fairly tough and if possible likely very expensive. There's a couple of reasons why most rentals are daily especially for any decent boat.

As said, cold water will come into play.

Something else to STRONGLY consider is transportation to the lake. There's a lot of great lakes around but they are just no where close to a major metro or airport.

I can tell you its a PITA and you'll have family cause major issues if they are all flying and its a PITA to get to the house. You won't be able to uber, picking them up sucks, etc. I've been there and done that. Everyone claims to go for a week and then they only go for 2-4 days and its constant coming and going to the airport and logistics.

Finally, remember that once you go north of Kentucky a lot of summers don't really start until Mid June. Theres lakes that are too cold in early June for much. A lot of people don't love the colder lakes in say Minnesota and the Great lakes to go to all the time, but as a southerner I've always loved the refreshing cold water there during the peak of summer to cool off.

Suttle Lake in Oregon or Bear Lake on the Utah-Idaho border.

If you wanna switch up the vibe, perhaps Lake Powell on the Utah-Arizona border. Surrounded by red rocks instead of forest, but the town is a little busier and touristy, especially in the summer.
