We’re in north Louisiana

Where could we go and do something fun?

I mean, a lot of places. Going to have to narrow that down a bit.

Driving or flying? What do you like to do when you travel? City or smaller area? Beach or mountains?

Have to give us more to go on.

Drive to Houston. It's the 4th largest city in the US. You can find plenty of stuff to do, from museums to fine dining to shopping, etc. Stay downtown, catch a baseball game or concert, live theater, etc.

It's not scenic, but it's bustling & filled with diversions.

sorry. You’re right

We’re going to drive. 4-5 hours would be good. I’m really open to anything. I love the beach but didn’t think any around here were any good. I love water activities. A water park would be fun to me or a place to ride rides. Are there any places that let you rent boats? We talked about going camping (in a cabin) somewhere

Hungryone, I have thought about Houston. I lived there three years though

That sounds fun

Do you know the name of the place to rent the boat?

The Marriott Marquis downtown in Houston has a lazy river in the shape of TX. LOL. Not exactly a waterpark, but still...

There are several companies you can find online. Most boats accommodate at least 8 people so you probably want to have another couple or 2 to defray costs. Another option is to find a lake house on vrbo or Airbnb and rent a pontoon

This was the problem I ran into. Seemed that all the boats were big and I couldn't justify the cost just for my family.

There just isn't a lot of great stuff to do within this driving range. Maybe Orange Beach?

Another option that I always suggest in these kinds of threads is the Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. It is a very nice property with a great pool. It's on the bay and they have free canoe/kayak/little sailboats.

I think the bikes are free and there is a bike path that runs a good way up the road.
Fairhope is a neat little town that is right up the road.

Not sure if it's worth it, but the theme park OWA wouldn't be too far of a drive from there.

Yes I googled and found them. The cheapest I found was a boat that sleeps 10 for 1700 for 4 nights

That’s a little much. But I found some great cabins

And there is a ton of fun stuff to do there. So thank y’all

Chattanooga is about a 6hr drive. Aquarium, high-point rock climbing gym (ton's of fun), rent a kayak/SUP and paddle some on the TN river, AA baseball, Rock City, Incline Railway, Ruby Falls, breweries, good choice of restaurants, Ocoee River close by for rafting, etc...
