Hofbräuhaus München is a pretty happening spot.
Glockenspiel is nearby. Touristy area but hey, you’re in Munich.
Hitler also had two residences there, which are able to be found but not toured.

EDIT:

Also, St Michael’s Catholic Church is in that same area. It’s worth going into. Just pull on one of the massive doors. It’s always open.

I was there for a few days.
On the way in to town we stopped to tour the concentration camp at Dacchau which was a moving experience.
It was quite a contrast when, a few hours later, we found ourselves in the middle of a big drunken party at the Hofbrauhaus.

We saw the two palaces of the ruling family of Barvaria, Nymphenburg Palace, their summer home, and the Residenz, the Royal Palace in the city. The latter contains Munich’s version of the Crown Jewels.

The Marienplatz is the main square in town. There are some pretty churches around there including St Peter and theCathedral which was Pope Benedict’s old church.
We ate sauerkraut and sausage at Nurembergr Bratwurst Glock am Dom, an old historic beer tavern next to the cathedral.

Munich is a fun city to visit for a few days.

A whole week is a long time in Munich unless you want to take day trips. You can go to places like Rothenburg on the Romantic Road, Salzburg, and the castle outside of town among other places.

Munich in the summer - nude sunbathing in the English Garden. None of that just topless nonsense. It made for a great afternoon with a few beers.

Never been to Munich, but Prague has some really interesting things to see. Their rail stations have a certain communist chic aesthetic to them. There’s the baby tower, St. Charles bridge and the palace. Really cheap beer and great night scene. Are you single?

Hofbrau Haus
English Gardens
Dachau
German Museum
BMW/Olympic park

If you aren't required to be in the city its a relatively short train ride to Salzburg or Innsbruck if you want to get in some Alps action.

Its a great city to walk around for a few days.
