I thought the puffin was terrible. Fishy, smokey and gamey.

The whale was better, but then I felt guilty the rest of the trip for eating it.

I actually loved the Puffin. But maybe the one I had was prepared differently?

I've eaten basically tail to snout of all kinds of land animals, organ and odd cuts don't bother me really all cooked and prepared pretty normally. I mean fried squirrel brains, ox tail soup, liver and onions, Chitlins, etc I'll eat all day long. I lover lesser cuts of venison, beef, etc. Raw food, raw eggs, etc. are no issue at all.

I went to Paris when I was 18 with my family and I think I ate some type of squirrel or rodent fish. The word the lady used I looked up in my dictionary and it was mouse and she made a gesture like a mouse running down the table, but I may have mis heard her or she was trying to say something similar as I had to use an actual book translator and didn't speak a lick of French. That was good food too, some kind of stew.

I can't get over incredibly fishy fish and some badly fermented stuff though.

I love seafood and stuff like squid ink pasta in Italy that tastes pretty normal is great. But when you get the nasty fishy fish or what not, I can't seem to make myself even stomach it. That certain flavor is just not something I can ever stomach.

Escamoles while in Mexico. It’s a really buttery, nutritious dish and it makes a great taco. Mine looked exactly like this:

Only problem is that it’s aunt larvae . If you didn’t know what it was you’d probably like it. Can’t say I was ever fully able to get it out of my mind.

I spent two years in rural coastal Japan. I’ve eaten some weird shite . Dried horse meat was the one that was local . Every kind of sea life imaginable. Those disgusting sea “ cucumbers “ come to mind . Natto if you know what that is . So much weird stuff. Pizza with mayo . Tongue. All kinds of intestines and other organs.

I’ve eaten some pretty rough stuff in Korea and China. The worst for me is usually the odd seafoods - just usually such a strong flavor. Sea cucumber was pretty bad, but the worst was some type of “sushi” on Jeju Island. I could smell it before the foil wrapper was even opened and it was impossible to be polite for more than one bite. I’ll try to see if I can find a pic of it.

Durian in Thailand. Smells of rotting meat but is considered a local delicacy. They also have hear black rotted eggs in pink shells with a half developed chicken inside. I refused to try one of those

The Durian was ok...creamy texture unlike any other fruit I have ever seen.
