Looking for some recs for the Northeast during the 3rd week of October.
Want to fly in somewhere and take rental to the coast.

fly into Philly, enjoy 1-2 days eating your heart out, drive up to Boston, repeat, then drive to the coast of Rhode Island, up through NH (maybe dip inland to Franconia), up to Maine, then fly back from Bangor.

I would fly into Boston or Portland
some of the places on the coast actually start to shut down but that is also the time of the year for fall foilage if you hit it right so you might want to plan on some time in Vermont

I was thinking the same thing. So much of it is seasonal and even the places that stay into fall close up around Columbus Day. The weather really starts to turn. After mid October I would think about more inland destinations.

We are flying into Portland on Oct. 6 and staying in Old Orchard Beach for 4 nights then driving up the coast to Bass Harbor where we will stay 7 nights and return the 11th.
