Lost carry on item—Update: found

I forgot my work phone on my flight from Newark to Scranton on United. I filled out this form online and can’t find a real person to contact about this. Anyone have any luck with a situation like this? I feel like I’m screwed.
ETA: found the phone and notified me four days after. Props to them.

Try calling Scranton airport 570-602-2023 lost and found besides filling out United's form (including seat number and description) and calling them. Best of luck getting it returned

I called United at Scranton but a recording just told me to fill out the form. This seems like they work for the airport itself, would they be of any help? I’ll give it a shot anyway. Thanks for the reply.

Did you call during business hours? Small airports have shorter hours to man phones.

Honestly, if you're not too far from AVP I'd go back to the airport in the morning and talk with the station manager for United.

I’m heading back today but it is two days after getting off the flight. I just find it a little ridiculous that I contact them three hours after, tell them exactly where it is, and get an update this morning saying “we still haven’t found your item.” There was one more flight on the plane that day, it’s either the person that was sitting on that plane or the person cleaning it out.

Or a random dishonest passenger who spotted the phone, grabbed it and will never be found.

It's likely gone man.
I left my iPad in a rental car and called the next day, car was still in the parking lot, and it was gone. Had a password too.

Gone. I had an old IBM thinkpad, which is not a very sexy laptop, and it was password protected and encrypted. Left it in a flight. Never saw it again.

I left my NOOK e-reader on a flight. It took about 30 days but United got it back to me.
