That could be true. It used to not be true. And it pissed alot of people off when directed there. Just trying to be helpful.

Edit- also they don't have air conditioning so mid-summer dining is frowned upon. They also have no kids menu.

Rodney Scott has opened a BBQ joint on King Street. The original in Hemingway is the best BBQ in SC. It's the pepper vinegar style.

The best shrimp and grits I've ever had were at the Noisy Oyster at the corner of East Bay and Market Streets.

Have you had it at Magnolias? Holy hell that was a good dish.

We stopped at the one in Hemingway a couple of years back on the way to Surfside. Good grief... place was amazing.

Just got back from a trip to Charleston. We took an anniversary vacation and drove all the way. New Orleans to Atlanta to Charleston back to Atlanta.

Loved the area. Stayed on Cannon St near King St. There are a ton of older homes that are remodeled and modernized and beautiful. Fort Sumter and Yorktown turned out to be a long ordeal but it was well worth it. We at at Anson the first night we were there. Next day we had lunch at Rodney Scott’s and dinner at Husk. Everything was top notch the entire trip and wife and I enjoyed every aspect of the place. Also, if you’re with a significant other or wife, be careful not to stare. The amount of women and scenery in Charleston was downright ridiculous. Wife watches that Southern Charm show and apparently, the ratio of women to men is astronomical and if you’re a guy “it’s basically a revolving door of good looking women in Charleston.” (her words)

The ratio of girls-to-guys at the College of Charleston is literally 2:1

All of the college-aged girls are male-starved. It's like fishing with dynamite.

Thanks for starting this thread DHammer!

I will be in Charleston in a few weeks as a surprise for my SO. Just booked Vendue today and glad to hear folks saying positive things about it.

I am definitely gonna come back to this thread when making restaurant reservations and such.

Thanks again.
