it's because uber drivers take the route the app tells them to. taxi drivers are in constant communication with other drivers about accidents/traffic/what routes to avoid. and they know how to get around shite fast.

I'm thinking I'll just do the Dial 7 thing ... I'll be safe right? We're not exactly country come to town but we're not cosmopolitan people either!

just get in a cab. i promise it's not hard

dial 7 is fine. they're good. they're nice. but cabs are cheaper than dial 7. the lines shouldn't be terrible, depending on time of day you get in. but if you wanna go the dial 7 route, i've used them in the past to get to newark, and they're good.

Dial7 is $34 for a sedan. Just 2 of us, 1 large suitcase and 2 carryons. Cab is really cheaper? Awesome either way.

And where is the bar where you work?? If my daughter was "legal" to get into a bar I'd buy a drink and give you a tip! Thanks for the help.

I don't work at a bar.

The $34 doesn't include tolls and tip in the dial 7 car so cab should still be cheaper. But again that's up to you. If you feel more comfortable doing it then go for it.

As for uber, the price you pay includes toll and tip. So if you take an uber anywhere just know your card will get charged the amount and that's all you have to pay.

OOPS! There's someone here with NYC info who I'm pretty sure works at a bar. Again, appreciate the help.

UBER is a mobile app that you can use in either the IOS or Android platform. It's GIS format allows you to track a driver when requested for service. All you have to do is input your payment information via credit card. The fare is calculated from point A to point B to give you a heads up on the cost. When a driver picks you up and drops you off at your destination your card is charged and you don't have to tip.

LYFT is another App that very similar, albeit more favorable to your wallet. You can add gratuity while using this platform.

Both methods are better than using a Cab IMHO.
