We've done second floor and top floor. I think we're just going to do poolside this time.

There's a good amount of people there but it's a small island and most people have never heard of it. If you want no crowd then go to Holbox.
That said, I've never had a problem getting a table or a place at the bar anywhere. Up until November Hotel Secreto only had 12 rooms.

It was bought by new owners and closed for a short while. We are going in June for 2 weeks.
Perfect location.

Dopi's lobster burrito is amazing. Reubens is awesome. Everywhere we ate and went was great. I recommend a vacation there for sure.

If you are on Facebook, there is a page called Islaholics that you can follow. It has great information and a lot of restaurants list their daily specials (like Chilitos by Rueben), as well as discounts and other info.
Sometimes Vacation rental owners will put up great last minute deals when they get a cancellation.

Its currently 1 degree here in Chicago, with a high of -10 on Wednesday, so 3/3 can't get here soon enough!

Does the island get crazy during spring break? Thinking of a long weekend around the 3rd or 4th week of March, too old to put up with spring breakers now a days.

Some of the spring breakers daytrip over. That’s the extent of it. There’s tons of organized craziness for them in Cancun and they tend to stay over there.

Have not been in a few years, but the last ferry to Cancun would leave Isla around 8 / 9 pm , so only people staying there would stay. The really rowdy group would return to Cancun.
I always thought Isla was aimed at a little older crowd than Cancun...do not know about now.

Isla is not just older, but also very European. French and Italians make up probably 30%. The town is also popular for backpackers and folks from Wisconsin.

HGG - the wife and I are having lunch at n Balam right now. We are currently at the JW this week, but I may move over to IM for something more quaint. We’re going to hop around today and decide

Our trip was amazing last week. Na Balam was perfect for us. The AC worked and it had a bed and a bathroom. That was pretty much all we required.
We walked out our back door and we’re on the beach.
We were there for the second of our 6 days and were already planning our trip back

Had lunch at Fredy’s today. Dinner at Bastos tonight. We’ll definitely eat at La Lotima again. It was amazing. Rainy day so we’re chilling and drinking.

Always the same for us....I’m in “return trip planning mode” a day or two before we are leaving.
You guys hit up some delicious eats. Glad you got to experience that awesome little island.

Check out this site. She’s pretty accurate although her reviews are older and she’s not posted on some of our favorite restaurants.
