International Travel. What we thinking?

I’m trying to head to Cancun in September and Seychelles in November. Am I screwed?
Assuming things are gonna start opening up relatively soon but don’t see many/any updates about travel out of the states.
Anyone have any clue when flights out of the country won’t be such a big deal?

Several resorts in Cancun opening up on June 15 and more on July 1.
You could fly to Cancun today if you wanted to.

Cancun/playa Del Carmen is open soon if not already
I wanted to go to Vietnam and Laos this year. I read Vietnam will issue visas on arrival again starting July 1st which hints that they’ll probably open again sometime not too far off.

Mexico and Caribbean are pretty good bets for being good to go.
I'm waiting on Canada because we'd like to do BANFF and Jasper late summer...i have far less faith in Canada to open.

Most of Europe will be open by July 1 internally. July 15th to non-EU travel. Doing Mallorca in July.

Seychelles Opening and Travel Procedures
quote:
Phase one: High end clients that arrive by private jets, chartered flights and yachts will be able to allowed in but must head directly to remote island resorts. Each resort will function ‘much like a quarantine facility’ and resorts will be liable if clients do not adhere to these measures.
Phase two: Starting in July commercial flights will start back up again. Those entering the country will need to do a coronavirus test 48 hours before their flight and must have a voucher at hand confirming the hotel they will reside at. A $50 health fee will be charged to cover the costs of rapid testing, health officials and increased health screenings

I just read that the US & Canada extended the border shut down to late July. Bummer as I was looking at a potential trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto.
Likely going to have to wait until Labor Day for things to really open back up.

Interested, trying to do Greece in mid-August but have know idea if that will be possible

Greece is heavily dependent on tourism. They barely make anything else for trade.
They will be on the forefront of international travel openings.

Thats the week i have circled. Flight prices are dirt cheap because the border isn't open. Debating speculatively buying the tickets now.

Good link. Needs some updates apparently though. From my friend in Slovenia...
At least for Slovenia, it should be updated. We have opened our borders without any restrictions to 17 countries and to whoever has a confirmed reservation at any tourist accommodation.
Shhhh....don't tell anyone though.

Europe closed until at least July 1
Hopefully the buffer of intra-EU travel through June will allow to open up to US travelers soon.

I live here, so the newspapers. Travel restrictions are country-specific. Germany, for example, is shut off to non-EU travel until Aug 31 while Greece aims to open up international travel July 1. Netherlands is also looking pretty positive.
Poster above makes a good point - intra-EU travel will hopefully provide enough data points to keep everyone calm.
Also keep an eye on the definition of “non-EU”. What I’m reading here is travelers will have to come from countries with similar or better situations. If Houston goes full retard and starts quarantining again then you can expect Europe to reciprocate by keeping you out.
