Not sure where to post this but if one where to be moving to Houston where would be the best area... I’m fairly confident the travel board is not the appropriate spot yet I have the most confidence in you all

Pasadena... not scared to commute up to an hour

Kingwood,Atascocita,Huffman if you enjoy the piney woods and Lake Houston. I make the commute daily from Atascocita to Pasadena. League city and clear lake are great areas as well. But way more congested and not much land. All are great school district as well. The I-59 commute from the northeast side of town is a breeze compared to I-45 and I-10.

Guess it depends on what you're willing to spend, do you have kids (school districts become important), age, what you enjoy doing on your off time...
I work in Pasadena as well, live in the Montrose/River Oaks area. Getting to work takes about 25-30 minutes....going home is another story...looking at about an hour.

Single, no kids, and preferably a condo or townhome to purchase. I have had a yard to take care of my entire adult existence ready for a break

Midtown, Rice Military, Memorial Heights...for young single or pre-kid couples that want the upside of city life - restaurants, nightlife, culture.

Heights. Montrose.
Depends on if you're trying to shell it out.
The cool kids say Eado is up and coming. It is ghetto adjacent, however.

A good friend lives in EaDo....it has a definitely hipster edge, with good proximity to the major highways. I'd live there if I worked downtown & could walk or have a very brief commute. Not sure I'd want to commute out of the city center every day, though.

The Heights or Rice Military
EaDo is coming along, but I'd still prefer the above areas for the time being.

I would like to stay below the 500k mark... obviously the lower the better.. not a huge fan of the “coolest” neighborhood just somewhere comfy I plan on leaving within 5 years

As previously mentioned...Heights or Rice Military are good options, you might be able to find something in the Montrose/Hyde Park area as well.

The Heights checks everyone of your boxes.
