Any recommendations on hotels in Mission Beach area of San Diego? Is the Mission Beach area OK? I don't know anything about that part of town....looks like a fun.....Not familiar with the area and looking for 3 nights over a long weekend?
Thanks

I've stayed at The Catamaran a couple of times, decent and a great location (1 block to the beach).

Stay in Pacific Beach right next to Mission Beach. Mission Beach seems a bit more trashy while Pacific is a bit more residential. Look along the beach between Pacific Beach Drive and Law Street. Seems like the ones that are on the beach are nice. The ones that are on Mission Blvd are older and cheaper.

I stayed at the Hyatt Mission Bay on points last year, it was nice and was upgraded to a suite. Most of the rooms look over the bay which was nice with all the boats. Be warned, the sea lions will wake up in the morning.
I liked it enough, close to Seaworld, downtown, and La Jolla, but much prefer staying at the Del on Coronado.

The Dana on Mission Bay and the Bahia are solid places.

We stayed at an Airbnb that was pretty raunchy but it was nearly on the beach. If my wife found it acceptable, you should be able to
We have two little kids, had fun. That area is pretty neat, still has a lot of character, not a lot of redevelopment. However, it’s basically an island, traffic can get a little bad on the weekends but it’s otherwise fairly accessible. Parking is at a ridiculous premium there.
