I like the Van Zandt

It's right off Rainey St and it's got a nice rooftop bar with a pool and love music

If staying downtown, Omni and Hilton both have nice hotels, are full service and offer either self or valet parking. And for a great burger, check out Jackalope Bar & Grill - located right down the street from these hotels (closer to the Hilton).

If staying near the Arboretum, check out the Renaissance Hotel.

Or if you are wanting something "spooky" check out the Driskill Hotel.

Driskill, Hotel San Jose, or Hotel Van Zandt.

South Congress Motel if you want the "weird" Austin experience.

Before we started staying in Airbnb places we would stay at Hotel San Jose. It's not a typical hotel though.....You should look at their web site if you're a baller, Hotel Saint Cecilia is really nice.

I enjoyed the W. if you don't want to stay downtown there is a Residence Inn on like 52nd or so that was great.

Van Zandt, yep Van Zandt. Elegantly funky, industrial. Man, I dig that place

I enjoyed the W. Very nice. Great location and great bar.
I also recently stayed at The Granduca (based on location) which is quiet and beautiful, but still trying to find it's stride. I enjoyed it but probably would not recommend unless you wanted absolute silence and relaxation and had business in that area of Austin.

Stayed at granduca as well and they upgraded us to the granduca suite. Not in the downtown area at all, but a great property.
