I usually try to take the family once a year to HB, but it’s getting too expensive. Anyone ever been around this time of year? Are the rates better, and is it as nice as it is during the summer?

Sort of approaching shoulder season, so you've missed the really good deals, but it should be a bit more economical than high season. Good luck.

Rates? My family can fit in the sleeper cab of my uncle-in-law’s big rig. Cozy, but we’re at the beach!

Bruh, you can check out this place called Eastover Estates in Denham Springs. You can probably find some pretty good deals on VRBO.com for a place to stay.
They might have a pond or two, but def. some ditches in the area for family entertainment.
