Hiking shoes/boots recommendations

Made a thread here before about my trip to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand in February, but this is a totally different question.
Just booked a 2 day 1 night trek through the jungle in Phong Nha Nat'l Park in Vietnam. It seems pretty intensive, hiking through untamed jungle, then some pretty serious caving, including underground rivers, bits of bouldering and whatnot.
Basically they say don't plan on staying dry at all, bring shoes that can dry quickly.
I've never done any type of hiking like this, and I generally think most hiking shoes are hideous.
Anyone have any recs for a good shoe for this type of trek, but also not so hideous that I'll actually want to wear them outside of just hiking?
TIA

You won’t want to wear them as fashion, but the Keen McKenzie sounds like it fits the bill. River shoe with toe bumper and rugged outer sole, drains and dries quickly.

Check out some of the Salomons that drain water.

My boss did this last year in Vietnam. Hiked through jungles, stayed in caves, saw remote beaches. He absolutely loved it, but that's his kinda thing.

I'd get some trail running shoes over hiking boots. I'm partial to La Sportiva, but I just like the way they fit my better than others. Salomon is also a solid brand. Go to an outdoor store and try a few pair on and get the ones that fit your feet best.

Salomon, Merrell, and Keen all make good shoes for amphibious hiking. Astral is also a brand that is getting a lot of love among boaters.
One consideration is how much ankle support you're going to need, which is usually dictated by whether you're wearing a pack or not as well as whether you're going to be going over extremely rough terrain or not (unlikely).
If you're not doing crazy rough terrain, I like shoes like the Merrell Trial Glove and other "barefoot running" shoes for quick drying performance. If you're doing super rocky terrain, it might be much for their thin soles, though.

Ive done hundreds of miles in Altra Lone Peaks. Rockies, Louisiana swamps, New Hampshire Mountains they perform well. Dry very fast. Good Darn Tough socks keeps blisters down also.

Have a pair of these. They’re great, but mine wouldn’t do well if submerged.

Awesome, thanks for the recs. Hopefully they have some good deals this week I can find some for fairly cheap.

Shoes are very personal for each foot. My advice is try different shoes and socks. When the weather gets bad go for a 4 mile hike around your neighborhood. Experience is the only way to know what works for you.
Don’t go half way across the world and not have the right gear. Use the wet weather you have to try things out.

Salomon makes boots and shoes that should fit your needs. I love mine.

I just pulled the trigger on these because they were on sale for $55 on Amazon. The reviews looked good for what I needed. If they don't feel right I'll just return them, but for the price I had to try.
Salomon X Ultra Prime Hiking Shoe
I like the style mostly because I know I'll wear them otherwise, not just on this trip.

To me Salomon runs a little narrow but makes a darn good shoe. Merrill is my river shoe, and I have some Keen waterproof sandals I like alot. All are worth the money. Enjoy!

For boots go Arc'teryx bora 2 mids they are tanks. For shoes id go with the Arc"teryx Norvans ( the non gortex model). I have both and they are very high quality products.
