I have a job coming up and will be there for a week. There’s not much in the way of hotels, so I will be driving.
Travel options: fly into either Laredo or Corpus Christi. I’ll be leaving from ATL and it appears I have more option going to Corpus Christi.
Where to stay? Kingsville, Alice, or Laredo are all about an hour away from the job. McAllen and Corpus Christi are almost 2 hrs.
TIA.

I would just stay one of the three hotels in Hebbronville. But if you are just working 8-5, then probably Laredo and stay at La Posada
When in Hville eat at Frank's Cafe.

Stay in Hebbronville.
All roads in and out of that place are littered with roadside crosses as a reminder of the deaths. Too many people drinking while driving and crossing the center lane.
It sucks, but it’s best just to crash there for a week.
If the job gives you a travel day, see about spending your first and last nights in Corpus Christi so you can treat yourself to better meals. You might also be able to treat yourself to a hotel with a water view in CC. The morning drive between both locations would be fine, but I wouldn’t do it if working late.

There’s a Best Western that’s walking distance to my job. fricking Border Patrol has a huge facility right across the street. I think safety isn’t a question and more of a food and what to do issue.

I grew up in McAllen. Used to have a deer lease in hebbronville. There wasn’t much out there back in the day but im sure it’s different now. You’re sort of halfway between Corpus and Laredo. Fly into either and if you have to pick somewhere outside hebbronville, corpus is pretty fun.
