Heading to Paris for 11 days (work). Thinking of taking a train ride to Brussels or Germany next weekend. Any suggestions welcome. First time in Europe.

Go to Brussels, I know most people say you can see everything in a day but I found that incorrect. I saw a lot of history while I was there and discovered a lot of places I found unique that seem to get skipped over.

Just went to Paris a couple weeks ago. Take a bus tour of Paris while your there. Get on and off and several different spots. I have yet to make it to Brussels, but Gent and Bruge are interesting. People here tell me Brussels is OK. I'd go into southern Germany if I were you

I actually liked Ghent and Antwerp more than Bruges.

I picked Luxembourg over Brussels for day trip but only because it was more unique and less to do in one day. Verdict in two weeks when I get back.

Visit the catacombs in Paris.

Good advice, I would also add go to Montmartre for a good view of the city and no matter where you are watch out for the merde du chien on the sidewalks

Brussels was a gorgeous city with a lot of history and plenty to do.

The military and Napoleons Tomb is awesome. Catacombs are cool but get there early. Buy some wine and bread and just sit in the grass near the eiffel tower.
