Looking to get tickets for the September 26th, looking at 386 bucks with the ticket and the express pass add on. Is there a better way forward? We go every year but every year it’s an expense for sure.

I don't think there is a better way, I've given up on HHN. It's too miserable of an experience without express and even with express it still feels like being herded like cattle through the houses. I just don't find it enjoyable with the amount of people anymore.

We went on Halloween last year without Express Pass and did everything we wanted to do. Got in 3 Haunted Houses and walked right on the Gringotts ride. We left early because we were tired from traveling and getting on a cruise ship early the next day.
Got there right when the park opened and went directly to the back of the park and worked our way forward which enabled us to do four attractions in the 3-4 hours we were there. Spent quite a bit of time in Diagon Alley and toured all of the scare zones. Had we stayed another couple of hours, we would’ve done 2 or 3 more Houses.

It's one of the best times to do HP for sure, nothing going on in there. Every time I have been lately, I don't usually go closer to Halloween, it's been mostly late September to mid October, it's been a nightmare to do the haunted houses if you don't have express. 2 hour waits for any haunted house.
Plus I am getting too old for putting up with the giant crowds of unsupervised teens.

Never been... always make our annual trip to Univ/IOA mid Nov or early Dec when there are 0 crowds.
Looks interesting, but FFS, it looks miserably crowded.

It’s definitely a cattle call that’s why we also do Howl-o-scream in Busch gardens as well. You get the best of both worlds

Just do express pass and you’re golden. With express you can do every house in one night and that’s really the goal anyway. This year looks to be more of an original house focus plus big properties like Hellraiser.

Assuming that's a weekend day? I have a conference in Orlando every September and we've gone a couple times. We usually go on a Thursday and I feel like we do really well. The key as said is get there early, pay attention to what closes to get those done, and then the last key is to stay late and you can usually go through quite a few houses quickly staying late.
But yeah middle of the night during peak time its a major cattle herding.
