Gunnison Colorado

Spending a week in a log cabin in Gunnison CO. We’ve got most of our days planned with activities, but I am looking for any good food recommendations in or around Gunnison.

Downtown crested butte has dozens of awesome choices. Walk around and just pop in somewhere.

Gunnison: I had a fried ribeye at the gunnisack. It was off the chains. Ole Miners Steakhouse is good. I've heard Garlic Mike's is good also.
If you go to Crested Butte, all of these are good - the secret stash, last steep, elk ave prime. Public house has great beer.
Wooden nickel and brick oven pizza are ok.

When? The kokanee salmon run is coming up in Sept. Good fishing on the Gunny and Taylor rivers. Go up to Taylor Res too, check out Cottonwood Pass.

Did you hit the Eldo? Cool old school place, especially when they have a band. Had many fun nights there.

Brick oven pizza has a great tap list as does the public house.
Drinks at the dogwood is a must
ETA: lost my phone at secret stash. Probably has the best pizza in town.
Lil’s has top notch sushi

Not sure if it is still going on but they have a great farmer's market on Saturdays. I highly recommend hitting it up and bringing back some local food to cook yourselves. As previously mentioned, crested Butte has some great food options as well. Just note most things close by 9pm.

Teocalli Tamale. The best barbacoa tacos and burritos in all of the whole wide world. I still have dreams about Teo burritos and I haven't lived in crested butte in 15 years. Anytime we go up there, before we even go to check into the hotel, we go straight there for a burrito.
