Wife and I have a southwest voucher that we must use before mid April 2027. Thinking about the GC. SW flies into Phoenix. Thinking maybe Sedona for a couple days then the GC. Any advice?

We did that trip a few years back. April would be a beautiful time. It’s a couple hours drive from Phoenix to Sedona. We rented a house thru VRBO. Plenty to see around Sedona. Easy day hikes. 2-3 hour drive to the south rim of the Canyon. I suggest you drive in and arrive at canyon early. I do not recommend the train from Williams to Grand Canyon.

November or April. Did Thanksgiving week before and it was perfect.

Did that at the beginning of March. We felt like Sedona was beautiful but still a waste. It was very, very crowded then, but you might not have to worry about that when you go. The trails were overwhelmed and basically not accessible. The stores all seemed very generic and touristy. There were some other towns close by that I would pick over Sedona if we went back.
Go see the sunrise at the GC. It's an early morning, but worth it. Try out the Mariposa Grill.
