I’ll start by saying we are not hikers. We generally just like to drive around for the scenery. What are your thoughts on going to Glacier then up to Banff and Jasper? Is it worth going to Banff and Jasper if we just just want the scenery? We are retired so the number of days is not an issue. I’ll say 2 nights in Tetons and 3 nights in Yellowstone was enough for us.

The scenery here is unbelievable. You should go. One question: What is Jasper like following the bad fire they had a couple of years back?

Good point about Jasper, might want to check out the current conditions following the bad wildfires they had......those were actually less than a year ago, July 2024.

Sounds like a heck of a trip. I've been to Jasper and Glacier seperately and both were amazing. I've also driven Calgary to Glacier and it was awesome. The part south of Calgary is a bit open and empty but once you get close to the park it's a heck of a view.

As I've said in previous threads, the scenery only gets better as you go north in the Rockies. Banff is the pinnacle for me, as far as physical beauty. It's much like Grand Tetons where you drive along an easy road/not really highway, but you have 8000 feet of evaluation change next to you and everything is easily accessible to the car tourist, but if you're willing to hike there are unlimited opportunities to explore.

The simple hike up to Mt Edith Cavell was my favorite. You had the summer melt dropping ice blocks into the pond that produced waves and mini avalanches. Very cool
I wasn’t too wowwed by Jasper itself
