Fredericksburg, TX and Surrounding Area - Where to stay?

Wife and I are trying to go on a little hill country trip at the end of october/beginning of Novemeber. Where should we stay? Is it better to just commute from Austin or SA to wine country everyday?

A friend has a few B&B's in Fredericksburg. I've stayed at the Creekside Cottage and can recommend it. Driving to/from Aus/SA every day will be a hassle.

2nd hoffman house, the breakfast they bring every day is pretty legit. It should be included in the room stay.
